Who we are

Women's Health World (womenshealth.world) is produced and managed by WHWI Group Limited. We are a private limited company registered in England and Wales under company number 16860853.

Our registered office is 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. WHWI Group is the data controller for personal information collected through this website.

Our commitment

WHWI Group is committed to protecting your privacy. We believe your data belongs to you. We aim to be transparent and responsible in how we use any information you share with us.

What we collect

We collect limited personal information. This includes your name, your email address and anything you share when you contact us.

If you create a member account, we also hold your username, an encrypted version of your password and your account preferences. If you sign up for our newsletter, we record your consent. Our servers also keep basic technical logs, such as IP addresses, to protect the site.

We do not currently collect or process sensitive personal health data.

How we use your data

We use your information to communicate with you, share updates about our work and respond to enquiries. We also use it to run member accounts and to send our newsletter to people who ask for it.

We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell it to third parties.

Our lawful basis

We rely on your consent to send our newsletter, and you can withdraw it at any time. We use account data to provide the membership service you signed up for. We handle enquiries and site security on the basis of our legitimate interests.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of trusted service providers to run this website. They include our website host, our newsletter platform beehiiv and the automation service that connects sign-ups to it.

These providers act on our instructions and must keep your data secure. Some may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on safeguards recognised under UK data protection law.

Data storage

We take appropriate steps to store your data securely and protect it from unauthorised access. We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above.

When you close your account or unsubscribe, we delete or anonymise your details within a reasonable period. The exception is information the law requires us to keep.

Cookies

Our website uses cookies to provide a functional experience and understand site usage. We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking. Our Cookie Policy explains which cookies we use and how to control them.

Your rights

You have the right to access your data, correct inaccurate data and request deletion. You can also object to how we use your data or ask us to restrict it.

You can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time using the link in every email. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected].

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. We would welcome the chance to resolve your concern first.

Future development

As WHWI Group develops, we may introduce new ways for people to take part in research. We will update this statement and explain any additional data use clearly. Any such use will rest on your explicit consent.

Updates and contact

We may update this statement from time to time. We will publish any changes on this page and update the date above.
